Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers a countywide Rheumatology service in a variety of clinic-based locations. We are looking for a compassionate Band 8a Advanced Clinical Practitioner / Band 7 Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our team to help deliver their expertise in diagnosis and treatment of Rheumatology conditions.
The candidate should be an expert knowledge Rheumatology speciality assessment, possess excellent diagnostic skills, creating customized treatment plans. You should also be able to evidence consistently developing your knowledge in order to provide patients with an advanced treatment options and show proficiency as an independent prescriber. Ultimately, a competent ACP needs to be a good leader and work well within a multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
- Assessment of patients on initial presentation, critically evaluate and diagnose, initiation of treatment as appropriate - includes prescribing pre-existing medication.
- Review of existing treatments and therapies, and ongoing review as clinically indicated
- To order and interpret radiological imaging, using findings to initiate treatment
- Provide advice, support and education for our patients, medical, nursing and AHP staff.
-Develop and deliver educational programmes for staff locally and work with advanced practitioners nationally to develop practice
- Act as clinical role model / educator for developing and delivering care that is responsive to changing requirements
-To constructively challenge others and demonstrate receptiveness to challenge.
- Take active part in Clinical Governance, Quality Improvement, research and development initiatives
- Facilitate research-based practice and assist in disseminating research findings and influencing change
-To lead, co-ordinate and promote the service, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary and community teams ensuring an effective, seamless service.
