An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 RN role in the progressive and expanding field of Interventional Radiology (IR).

You will be joining our highly skilled and motivated team in providing optimal care for patients undergoing I.R procedures.
Our team delivers a wide range of interventions many of which are highlighted in the NICE pathways as the first line of treatment for the public. However, I.R is also a developing specialty with introduction of new procedures, clinical practice, and role developments.
For our IR nurses and radiographers this means the opportunity to gain diverse experiences and the opportunity to influence practice developments in pioneering teams.
Additional rotation in 24 / 7 on-call service
Main duties of the job
As a pivotal part of our team, the post holder will be responsible for the daily management and coordination of the team to ensure that all patients receive an optimum level of safe, effective care. They will also be responsible for supervision, leading and developing colleagues and nursing practice within I.R.
The main duties of the role will be to support the Radiology Nursing Manager. To organise and lead the day-to-day work within the I.R modality. The post holder will promote a daily structured rotation of staff throughout all nursing roles, to build knowledge and strengthen and collaborative working.
You will receive Induction training and you will be supported by experienced IR RNs and radiographers.
Scheduled supervision will also be given by Radiology Nurse manager to ensure that you are supported through any developmental needs, and that your transition into the IR environment, its internal processes and policies is as smooth as possible.
About us
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have invested in a combined IR and cardiac catheterisation lab Hub with a joint Day Case Unit for admissions and recovery of patients. We are looking forward to working collaboratively within this joint Hub and the teams will benefit from brand new clinical environments in two IR- and three cardiac cath labs.
I.R's unique range of services are offered across two hospitals within the Trust. Cross site working is an expectation of all staff. The teams cover elective procedures as well as out of hours emergencies through an on-call rotation.
