Job summary
- Undertake general pharmaceutical duties under the supervision of a Section Manager or deputy, assisting in the provision of a safe and effective Pharmacy service in line with current policies, procedures and legal requirements.
- Main duties to provide a courteous reception service to patients and hospital staff in line with Distribution procedures, contributing to the overall efficient and effective running of the service.
- To assist in ensuring all wards and departments receive regular supplies of stock medicines.
- To assist in day to day running of the pharmacy stores and fluid store.
Main duties of the job
- Provide a top-up supply service to hospital wards and departments
- Pick, check and pack a range of stock orders
- Maintain distribution and stores area with regular stock checks and removal of expired products
- Process returned stock from wards and departments for re-use or destruction
- Assist with receipt of deliveries within Stores area.
- Answer hatch to hospital staff and deal with queries
- Enter data into pharmacy computer system (EMIS) to maintain stock control.
