Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Restorative Dentist to join our Head and Neck team at Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust. This post forms part of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department. We are a busy head and neck unit offering the full range of surgical treatment including free-flap reconstruction. There are close working relationships between Maxillofacial, ENT, Oral surgery and the Clinical Oncology department. There is an on-site Maxillofacial laboratory and a dental hygiene service. The Maxillofacial department at Gloucester Royal Hospital is housed in a dedicated modern and well-equipped outpatient facility.
Main duties of the job
You will:- Undertake the assessment and management of the dental health of head and neck cancer patients, liaising closely with the head and neck team to ensure optimal outcomes.- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical colleagues in other specialties and participate in regular clinical meetings and other post graduate activities.- Liaise with colleagues in primary care and the community dental service regarding ongoing management of head and neck cancer patients- Develop and maintain good communications with General Practitioners and appropriate external agencies.- Have active involvement in Audit and Clinical Governance- Ensure your attendance at Head and Neck MDT
