Admin & Waiting List Manager - Care of the Elderly (CoTE), Neurology & Stroke, Band 5
To provide an operational overview to the Medical Divisional Management Team relating to all aspects of waiting list planning, capacity planning and scheduling within for both Diagnostic & Planned appointments.
The post holder supports the Medical Division's General Management Team in the delivery of 18 week waiting times, Cancer and Diagnostic targets as well as leading mutually agreed service improvement initiatives in line with strategic aims. The post holder will work in close partnership with multidisciplinary teams to drive improvement, embed change and standardise practice, based on local requirements, national guidelines and clinical best practice. The role will also supervise and support the secretary supervisors whose teams provides traditional secretarial support to the consultant & nursing teams. With a focus on providing a quality patient service, this role will supervise their administration teams whilst retaining responsibility for undertaking and/or overseeing more complex tasks.
Main duties of the job
This is a key post that will manage and implement administrative systems to achieve local GHNHSFT and National waiting time targets by:-
- Ensuring safe and timely booking/admission for diagnostic and planned procedures, and other appointments/procedures as part of the recovery plan.
- Improving efficiency by reducing inappropriate demand on services and developing and implementing best practices.
- Fully utilising capacity to deliver activity in an efficient and effective manner
- Provide regular waiting list information to the AGM/GM/Clinical Leads for CNS.
- Undertaking capacity planning on a weekly basis to best inform medium and long term planning.
- Performance management of staff to ensure a high standard of work for the benefits of patients, consultants and management.
- Liaising closely with the AGM/GM, with regards to capacity planning and weekly planning.
- Data collection to facilitate auditing and reporting of service, as required by General Management team or Clinical Team.
