Job summary

Reporting to the Trust's Programme Manager we are seeking a Project Facilitator on a 12 month fixed term contract to provide essential support to ensure the delivery of key sustainability and transformation projects, which will entail facilitating and monitoring progress to ensure delivery of value for money and effective and sustainable improvements for patients and staff.

The work will involve working across both Gloucester and Cheltenham sites, although the successful candidate can be based at either site depending upon their personal circumstances. A free staff shuttle bus runs throughout the day between both sites.

Main duties of the job

The Project Facilitator will support the delivery of key sustainability and transformation projects, facilitating and monitoring progress to ensure delivery of value for money and effective and sustainable improvements for patients and staff.

Working with key stakeholders in the implementation of change projects, financial sustainability and quality improvement initiatives. This will include setting up structures, documentation and reporting.

The collection, interrogation and interpretation of data and to inform recommendations in a structured and succinct manner to a range of stakeholders.

Communicating effectively and building relationships with key stakeholders including project leads and clinical staff.

Job description

Job responsibilities

- The Project Facilitator will be accountable for contributing to the successful delivery of projects in a number of work areas. While specific targets and objectives will change, the key accountability areas for this post are:

- To work with the Programme Manager and other Programme and Project Managers to develop relationships with key stakeholders and operational teams to facilitate and support the delivery of new and improved working practices in accordance with project and change management principles and service improvement methodologies

- To support operational teams in ensuring productivity, sustainability, efficiency, quality initiatives and improvements are adopted across the Trust.

- To work closely with sponsors using our documentation, processes, governance and reporting.

- To work closely with the Programme and Project Managers on change and improvement initiatives related to improving efficiency and productivity in all areas; taking the lead where appropriate.

- To act as a resource for operational teams as directed by the Programme Manager, providing advice and guidance on all productivity, utilisation & sustainability initiatives in regards to process, tracking, reporting, planning and analysis.

- To support key stakeholders and Programme Managers with the planning, monitoring and tracking of productivity & sustainability initiatives, and support with the reporting of performance against project plans.

- To lead on sharing success and key messages trust-wide through the use of effective communications.

- To participate in the evaluation of all aspects of workstreams within the programme of work.

- To support the Programme Manager in challenging current practice and encouraging teams to identify opportunities for improvement, utilising data and NHS Benchmarking tools such as NHSIs Model Hospital and the NHS Benchmarking Network.

- To communicate effectively and build relationships with all key stakeholders and promote the benefits of the Trusts improvement approach.

- To work closely and collaboratively with the Programme Managers, Project Managers, Data and Benchmarking Analysts and Administrators within and external to the Programme team.

- To proactively review and analyse data and information, identifying project issues and escalating as required when plans are deviating away from target and suggesting recommendations for possible action.

- To provide information and data on a regular and ad hoc basis in relation to workstreams and programme objectives, ensuring the accuracy of such data by applying robust and consistent validation processes.

- To provide Programme and Project teams with timely and accurate information which will support productivity requirements and inform the strategic decision-making process.

- To support the development of other members within the team.
