This is a really exciting time to join the NHS in Gloucestershire - we have ambitious plans to strengthen how we ensure that the experiences and voices of local people and the staff who deliver services across our county inform everything we do - from the inside out and from the outside in.
You will be help us champion the 'voice' of local people, helping deliver change within health and care services and helping us build relationships with local communities.
This role will help to shape our involvement and engagement with diverse communities, patient representative groups, colleagues and partners across Gloucestershire's joined-up health and care system.
We want to make sure that we reflect our diverse communities, building on the knowledge, skills and experiences that will help us deliver the best care. We particularly welcome applications from our local diverse communities in Gloucestershire, people with a lived experience of a long-term condition or disability and LGBTQ+ people.

Main duties of the job
The Community Engagement and Involvement Manager will support the Communications and Engagement Team, Patient Experience Team in delivering an effective programme of engagement and involvement with local communities.
o Build links with groups, networks, charities and other organisations that represent, work for or support BAME and traveller and seldom heard communities.
o Using these links to gather views and opinions that both help improve decision making and ensure that the Trust delivers for the communities we serve
o Supporting a wide range of engagement activity, including the planning and delivery of projects and programmes in partnership with communities.
o Support and engage with Young Thinkers Gloucester Charity, whose volunteers work in the NHS and are from the diverse local communities.
o Support the recruitment to the Trust membership, enabling greater diverse representation from across the county.
o Support a range of existing services to engage with local communities, including Homeless Specialist Team, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Workforce Race and Equality Standard Team and the Equality + Diversity Steering Group.
o Support the development of the Engagement and Involvement Framework, Engagement Tracker and support the reporting on activity.
o Develop and maintain relationships with patient and community groups, including seldom heard groups, and networks to enable high quality patient and public engagement activity to be delivered.
