Job summary

We are seeking an experienced physiotherapist who has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the MSK discipline to join our integrated therapy team for a 12 month fixed term maternity leave cover . The role includes providing clinical leadership, day to day operational management and supervision of a large clinical team.

You need to have evidence of broad, proven experience in the MSK specialty aligned to Health Education England (HEE) MSK Capability Framework and Roadmaps and be able to deliver expert diagnosis, prevention, supported self-management advice and treatment as required. The job plan will support development across four pillars of advanced practice.

Main duties of the job

You will use your broad musculoskeletal and patient-centred approach to deliver high quality best MSK health management. Demonstrating a progressive mind set and a clear sense of direction regarding personal and service development is important. You would be a resource for supporting development of other health professionals and less experienced staff aligned to Health Education England MSK Capability Roadmaps and contribute to our training programme.

- To deal with issues relating to performance management (in consultation with Human resources and the Lead Therapist) to effectively manage staff within the clinical team.

- The post holder will ensure effective stock control and use of resources to support budget management. This includes reviewing staff resources and skill mix to meet service need. The post holder assumes responsibility for the day to day management of the clinical area.

- To maintain a clinical commitment that accounts for a minimum of 50% of contracted hours and to be present clinically in the department, during clinical hours.
