Clinical Lead in Emergency Medicine Tenure

The Clinical Lead roles exist to assist the Emergency Department Specialty Director and Triumvirate in leading the cross-county strategic development and operational delivery of Emergency Medicine. The post holders will be responsible for leading the delivery of clinical services and within the Trust's financial, workforce, operational targets and strategic objectives.

Main duties of the job

DIMENSIONS:

The post holders will be responsible for:

Ensuring the highest quality clinical service and achievement to include:

  • Meeting national targets e.g., 4- and 12-hour departmental standards
  • Clinical harm reviews and complaint response
  • Current and future National quality indicators

They will also be responsible for:

  • Developing 1, 3 and 5 year strategy plans with the Tri
  • Work force planning
  • Supporting appraisal and revalidation processes
  • Supporting the Governance/audit lead
  • Provide clinical input to commissioners for pathway development, quality control and referral patterns
  • Interface with the Trust's procurement, audit and management departments
  • Support job planning process
  • Organise and attend business performance meetings for their Specialty
  • Contributing to external reviews and Regulators
  • Ensuring quality education for the clinical workforce
  • Strategic site development i.e., buildings and estate
  • Line management of the consultant group
