If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join a very friendly, supportive and forward-looking team of Acute Team Dietitians based at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
The role will provide inpatient clinical dietetic care to complex, high priority patients on the acute wards with the ability to develop in depth experience in general surgery and respiratory care.
The role would suit a self-motivated enthusiastic dietitian who is keen to advance their career. We are looking for 1 full time dietitian but are happy to explore a job share/part time.
Main duties of the job
You will provide complex dietetic care to high priority acute inpatients focussing your time when caseload allows in general surgery and respiratory care.
You will offer support and supervision to the band 5 dietitians and help to develop their knowledge in acute nutritional support.
You will aim to audit and review your practise and form good relationships with multi-disciplinary teams to advance practise.
About us
We are a large friendly department spread across 2 sites, Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH) & Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH). We also have a Home Enteral Feeding Team which is based locally in Gloucester.
Our department consists of many specialities. Our renal and paediatric dietitians are based in GRH, whilst our oncology dietitians are based in CGH. We also have separate acute teams on each site and specialist teams such as the nutrition support team, gastroenterology and diabetes dividing their time between both sites. As well as dietitians, our teams include dietetic support workers, dietetic assistants and nurses.
We are committed to continual professional development and support audit and quality improvement projects.
Gloucestershire is a great area of the country to live in, with many areas of outstanding natural beauty, as well as excellent travel networks to the rest of the country.

- Registered with HCPC
- Experience of working within the NHS
Desirable
- Post registration training e.g. Masters level in dietetics
- Member of the British Dietetic Association
- Attendance on relevant accredited courses

- Car owner/driver
