The successful applicant will be employed by Newcastle Hospitals foundation trust but they will undertake the majority of their training at Martin House Children's Hospice.
The successful candidate must be an ST3 Trainee or above. Please see detailed job description in section F for specific SPIN training post.

Main duties of the job
This is a 12 month SPIN programme offering the successful candidate the opportunity to learn about specialist PPM across hospital, community and hospice settings from antenatal care through to adulthood. This opportunity has been provided through one off CHIPS funding for a trainee from the Northern Deanery in order for them to access SPIN training unavailable in their location. The candidate will need to apply for Out Of Programme Experience. The successful candidate will achieve SPIN trained status, ultimately enabling them to take on roles where additional paediatric palliative care expertise is required e.g. lead doctor within a district general hospital setting.
The trainee is based with the Martin House Children's Hospice specialist palliative care team supporting children and young people across East, North and West Yorkshire. In addition, there will be small amounts of time spent with the CHIPS team in the North East and North Cumbria Region.

Our team is embedded in Leeds Childrens Hospital (close working with many different paediatric specialties including respiratory/neurology/gastroenterology/ICU/cardiology/neonatology), Bradford palliative care team, community nursing teams and hospitals across the area. - Primary Medical Qualification.
- Full GMC registration or eligibility to obtain this within 3 months (or within 6 months for non-EEA applicants).
Clinical Skills and Knowledge

- Image interpretation relevant to practice.
