Job summary
This is an opportunity to join established teams, providing support to and working alongside; qualified Dental Staff within both the Child Dental Health Department, on a fixed term maternity contract for 8 months from date of appointment.
The role of the Registered Dental Nurse in providing high standards of clinical care and support to post and undergraduate clinicians as well as various staff grades; under the guidance of the Senior Dental Nurse. The role involves the preparation and maintenance of the clinical areas including stocks of materials and equipment and collecting and inputting data into the patient administration system.
To provide close support for the care of patients in a clinical environmentThe preparation and maintenance of clinical areas ensuring that high standards of cross infection and cleanliness are maintainedTo ensure department stock levels and equipment are maintainedTo ensure patient confidentiality is upheldTo escort patients to and from waiting areasTo books appointments and update clinical activity dataPost training may be an advantage or may be required in specialist areas i.e. Implant, Surgical, Sedation and complex restorative procedures
Although based on a specific department within the Dental Hospital, the post holders will be required to work as necessary within any area of the Dental Hospital and other Dental Units within the Trust.

Main duties of the job
Dental nurse on a busy child dental health clinic, in a range of dental procedures, under local anaesthetic and inhalation sedation and General Anaesthetic.
Support the dentist during procedures, maintain and adhere to trust policies and procedures.
Have good communication skills, be punctual and have a range of admin skills.
