Are you an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and highly committed Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our busy 28-bedded surgical ward within Surgery. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, forward-thinking leader to play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality, person-centred care for our patients.

As Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the ward, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care. You will use your strong clinical knowledge and leadership experience to support staff, drive service improvements, and maintain excellent standards across the unit.

You will lead by example, acting as a role model for nursing excellence while providing visible leadership and guidance. Your ability to prioritise, problem-solve, and coordinate care in a fast-paced environment will be essential to the success of this role.

  • Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team, ensuring high standards of evidence-based, person-centred care.
  • Support the operational management of the ward, including staffing, patient flow, and resource coordination.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior staff, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Promote the Trust's values and behaviours in all aspects of practice, encouraging a culture of respect, inclusivity, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection control, and safety standards.
