Job summary
The role involves working within the Ophthalmology Waiting List team, assisting with the admission of patients to the waiting list for surgery, associated with all specialities within Ophthalmology, including cataract surgery. The role involves helping to manage the admissions of patients to maximise theatre use according to the instructions of the consultants and their respective teams. Organising of waiting lists to ensure that maximum waiting time targets are met whilst patient choice is not compromised. Reporting to the senior waiting list co-ordinator.

Main duties of the job
Working within the Ophthalmology waiting list office, which currently consists of six full and part time staff, managing lists for 50+ clinical staff. Dealing with day to day queries from patients/consultants.
Keeping track of waiting times to ensure that patients receive their treatment in a timely manner.
Working on a daily basis adding patients to the waiting lists, phoning patients to book their surgery dates.
