Job summary

Are you an experienced paediatric orthopaedic nurse ready for the challenge of stepping into a ward based Senior Sister role.

The band 7 Senior Sister in paediatric orthopaedics is a highly experienced clinical leader responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and child centred nursing care across the paediatric orthopaedic service at The Great North Children's Hospital. The role combines clinical expertise with operational leadership, playing a key part in coordinating multidisciplinary care for babies, children and young people with orthopaedic conditions, elective and trauma pathways and those with complex health needs.

Main duties of the job

The key responsibilities this role will entail will be maintenance of clinical standards, management of a staff team, recognising skill mix and development of staff education. they will oversee quality improvement projects and ensure compliance with national and trust policies.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the orthopaedic consultants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and the wider MDT to offer seamless pathways of patient care.
