Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Paediatric Surgery team at the Great North Children's Hospital (GNCH), one of the largest and most advanced children's hospitals in the UK. As a Clinical Administrator, you will play a crucial part in supporting our clinical teams, ensuring the smooth delivery of specialist surgical services for children across the Northern Region.
We are looking for a confident, motivated, and highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail.
You will be able to prioritise a busy and varied workload effectively while remaining calm under pressure.
You must be an excellent communicator, with the ability to build effective working relationships with both staff and patients.

Main duties of the job
You will provide a comprehensive administrative service to our paediatric surgical consultants and nursing teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing consultants' diaries and coordinating appointments.
- Handling telephone and email enquiries with sensitivity and excellent communication skills.
- Accurately typing clinical reports and letters.
- Maintaining and updating digital patient records.
- Supporting the administration of team meetings.
- Liaising with patients, carers, and other clinical teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Scanning and photocopying of medical correspondence.
