Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic highly motivated Ward Clerk/Receptionist to join the forward-thinking team in the Day Treatment Centre (DTC), which is a bespoke built day surgery centre offering a wide range of surgical procedures. The DTC focuses on the health and wellbeing of both patients and staff to support us in providing exceptional patient care. Could you be a member of our excellent team?

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is dedicated to assisting the nursing and medical teams to provide excellent patient care. We are looking for a reliable, friendly, highly organised, confident individual who has excellent communication skills. You must also be able to demonstrate an adaptable, enthusiastic approach to your work within a busy but rewarding environment. You must be courteous, respectful and helpful as you will be the first point of contact for our patients as they arrive at the department.

  • 37.5 Hours/Week (4 days/week 07:00 - 17:00/10:00 - 20:00), part-time hours may be available.

Main duties of the job

Front of house reception duties:

Greeting patients and staff members

Answering and fielding telephone calls from patients, relatives and members of the multi disciplinary team

Ward clerking

Making appointments

Collating and preparing paperwork

Various IT tasks including admission and discharge of patient, using various IT systems

Effective communication with clinical staff

Administration housekeeping

Recording of data

Any other duties as required
