We are delighted to offer a permanent full-time post in our award-winning Integrated Pharmacy Hub. We are a friendly team of Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, and administrative staff, based at Regent Point near Regent Centre Metro station in Gosforth.
We support patients, GPs and GP practice staff across Newcastle with medicines issues and prescribing; we liaise with secondary care and community pharmacy and nursing services to solve problems for patients. Our ideal applicant works well in a team, has well-developed communication skills and understands how to deliver person-centred care.

Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities of the role include solving medicines related problems for patients and alleviating GP workload. This will include:
- reconciling medicines after hospital appointments or admissions
- making changes to the patient's primary care record
- issuing medicines
- talking to patients about new/changed medicines
- providing alternative medicines during stock supply shortages
- adjusting medicine formulations for swallowing difficulties or MDS provision
- bringing medicine issues in line for repeat dispensing or proxy ordering
- re-authorising repeat medicines
The successful applicant will register with Centre for Postgraduate Pharmacy Education's Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (PCPEP); the course is fully funded by Health Education England and we will provide full financial support for travel, study leave and any equipment needed. Clinical supervision from an experienced pharmacist in our team will be provided before, during and after the education programme.
