Half the clinical work will be general neurology, contributing to the acute service and outpatient service, and half contributing to the subspecialties of sleep and movement disorders. While advertised as 8 PAs, we would be willing to consider alternatives and are more than happy to be approached to discuss how the illustrative plan below might be adjusted to meet a candidate's preferences.

Candidates for the post must be registered medical practitioners and on, or eligible to join, the Specialist Register within six months of the date of the Appointments Committee.
Main duties of the job
This is a part time substantive post based at the Royal Victoria infirmary in Newcastle. Clinical work will be roughly 50/50 general neurology/subspeciality. Movement disorders clinics are based nearby the Campus for Aging and Vitality and sleep at the Freeman hospital. There is likely be a DGH neurology component to the job.
The appointee will be able to participate in the weekly academic meetings and will have the chance to contribute to the departmental teaching programme for the undergraduate medical students from Newcastle University and to contribute to the postgraduate training if they wish.
The appointee will undertake administrative duties in relation to the care of his/her patients and in relation to the running of the Department of Neurology in co-operation with the Head of Department, Departmental Manager and Clinical Director.
