The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Data Analyst - Patient and Staff Experience Team

The closing date is 05 October 2025

Job summary

Joining the Patient and Staff Experience Programme at Newcastle Hospitals Trust as a Data Analyst, presents a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the organisation's commitment to listening to--and acting on--feedback from patients, families, and staff. This fixed-term role is ideal for someone with strong data analysis skills, a passion for interpreting and presenting feedback in insightful ways, and a genuine curiosity about patient and staff experience data as a powerful tool for storytelling and driving impact.

You'll work closely with our Lead Data Analyst to ensure that our data processes--from analysis and validation to presentation--are consistently high quality and tailored to a range of audiences. Your attention to detail, strong time management, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines will be essential to success in this role. Equally important are your communication skills, particularly your ability to convey complex data information in a clear and accessible way that resonates with different stakeholders.

We encourage interested candidates to have a conversation about the role before applying, to ensure a clear understanding of the focus and expectations of the work. A genuine commitment to working with data in a way that honours the stories and experiences behind it is essential.

Main duties of the job

This is a fixed-term contract until December 2026, aligned with the programme's funding. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week), with a significant portion of time required to be spent on site. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applications from candidates who require fully remote working arrangements. Interviews will be in person only.

  • Conduct data quality analysis, reporting, and data management to support the patient and staff experience programme.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reports to inform the patient and staff experience programme.
  • Lead initiatives to improve data quality and integrity within the programme.
  • Design and analyse bespoke surveys to support a range of teams and services.
  • Present data in various formats, tailored to suit different audiences and purposes.
  • Promote the importance of data quality across the organisation.
  • Provide advice and guidance on data quality to members of the patient and staff experience team
  • Interview date: Monday 20 October 2025
  • 37 hours 30 minutes/week
