Main duties of the job
Leading a team of skilled clinical photographers, technicians and administration staff, the post holder will ensure the provision of accurate, ethical and timely visual documentation for clinical, diagnostic, educational and legal purposes.

- Overall responsibility for an effective and efficient management, development, and provision of the service
- To implement Departmental, National, Local and Trust policies and directorates, which affect the service to the Trust.
- To assist the Clinical Board and departmental management team with all aspects of their area(s) of responsibility and take the lead in specific delegated areas.
- Manages a team of photographers, technicians and administration staff who provide a full range of clinical and non-clinical services to consultants, patients, and a range of clinical services across the organisation.
- Provides an out of hours on-call service (evenings & weekends) across hospital sites.
- Managing the development and expansion of the medical photography department to meet Trust wide needs.
- Maintain an up to date Continue Professional Development (CPD) portfolio to satisfy the requirement of the Health Professions Council and Institute of Medical Illustrators
- Provides images for use in assessments, treatments, or social care of the patient.

- Registration as a registered Medical Illustrator Practitioner

- Training plus extensive post graduate experience to MSc level
- Fully conversant and leads in matters surrounding confidentiality, consent, and data protection in medical photography.
- Competence with all SLR camera formats
- Fully up to date with information technology and multi media
- Knowledge and experience of a wide range of computer skills and software programs.
- Experience of working in a photographic environment.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable
- Training and experience in research and audit.
- Experience mentoring and training junior members of staff
- Experience of working independently in outlying clinics
- Experience in running a Trust wide Medical Photography service.
