Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to commence a new Cardiology Nurse Practitioner service based within the Freeman Cardiology Wards, for a 1 year fixed term or secondment opportunity.
You will be involved in the provision of care of cardiology patients across the cardio clinical board, such as ward rounds, assessment and review, discharge including discharge letters and non-medical prescribing.
This is an essential role to assist in seamless patient care and flow.
A clinical skills or Nurse Practitioner qualification is essential, non medical prescribing is also desirable however we would support study to gain non medical prescribing.

Main duties of the job
As a Nurse Practitioner you will should be able to
- Ensure that the patient is the central focus of a streamlined patient journey ensuring optimal quality of care.
- Working as a nurse practitioner, provide a prompt response to calls from colleagues, prioritising importance and clinical need.
- Manage own caseload to include assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment within defined parameters and training across the clinical board for cardiology patients.
- Work with nursing , medical and AHP colleagues to ensure safe patient care, thus enabling smooth patient flow.
