An opportunity has arisen to join our team of Nuclear Medicine Clinical Technologists based at Darlington Memorial Hospital. You will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive Nuclear Medicine and DEXA service performing approximately 4200 patient examinations per year.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will put patient care at the centre of their work and demonstrate excellent team working skills. Working at other sites within the Department will occasionally be required.
Nuclear Medicine services at Darlington, Durham and Hartlepool are provided by the Northern Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Directorate of Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals. The team of around 30 technologists, nurses, clinical scientists, administration staff, radiologists and cardiologists work collaboratively across the three sites, and have a strong history of staff development and training. Opportunities for role development and ongoing training will be available for the right candidate.
If you do not have sufficient nuclear medicine experience, you would be supported to study and attain a Post-Graduate Diploma in nuclear medicine, and if you don't hold a current registration then you would also complete the IPEM in-service training scheme to achieve registration as a clinical technologist.
You would be appointed on Annex 21 of Band 6, salary will be 65%, 70% and 75% of the top of Band 6 in your first, second and third years of employment respectively.
Once you have completed training and provided evidence to HR, annex 21 will be removed and you will be paid at Band 6. Failure to complete this within 3 years from date of appointment may result in your employment with the Trust being reviewed.
