We are inviting applicationsfrom suitably qualified nurses to apply for the role of Band 7 Motor Neurone Disease Nurse Specialist.
The successful applicant will have Senior nurse and Neurology experience or experience of working with patients who have long term conditions or palliative care needs. Community experience will also be advantageous but not essential.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in the patient journey from initial assessment and diagnosis, managing evolving complex needs, through to end of life care . In addition to their clinical role, the nurse specialist will offer expert advice and guidance, education and care co-ordination for these patients and their clinical teams. They will be supported to develop effective multidisciplinary review processes to assure outcomes and review compliance with national guidance. Alongside a high standard of clinical knowledge and skills, the post demands an innovative individual with excellent communication, organisation and leadership/teamworking skills to help shape the development of the service.
