Job summary
The Ear, Nose and Throat Department based at the Freeman Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking person to join their existing Waiting List Team. Working alongside existing team members under the supervision of the Senior Waiting List Coordinator, this role will provide a comprehensive and efficient waiting list function to support the medical team within ENT.
Each Waiting List Officer has responsibility for managing waiting lists for their designated consultants, ensuring patients are treated in line with NHS Referral to Treatment Targets, and will carry out duties such as adding patients to the waiting list, booking surgery in line with Consultant's instructions and target dates, scheduling admissions, arranging pre-assessment appointments, and other general office duties, as well as providing cross cover for colleagues during holiday or sickness periods.

Main duties of the job
The ENT Department is part of the Surgical and Associated Specialties Board at Newcastle Hospitals Trust. The Board also includes the surgical specialities of Breast, Colorectal, HPB, Vascular, and Urology. The Board are committed to promoting development and training opportunities for administrative team members, and have a designated Development Lead for administration staff, who can support career progression
