Job summary

We are looking for a registered Dental nurse with a Level 3 Oral Health Care in Dental nursing or the National certification in Dental Nursing to work within the Oral and Maxillofacial outpatients Department which is part of the Dental Directorate but works within the Main RVI Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The Successful candidate will provide assistance to Dental and medically qualified staff both in the outpatient and theatre settings. An in depth knowledge of cross infection procedures, good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. Professional, but yet sympathetic approach towards patients and staff. Must be able to work as part of a team or independently and have knowledge of Health and Safety and Trust Policies.

There may be a requirement for the team member to work across sites/hospitals.

The post entails assistance in Dental procedures under Local anaesthetic and sedation, Trauma, Head & Neck cancer services & Orthognathic treatments and planning. The post holder will be responsible for assisting and providing support, care and follow up to all above types of patients across multiple sites and departments. Support, care and treatments are carried out along side a member of the team or under their guidance independently when training and induction is completed.
