Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Burns team in a hybrid role, working as Ward Clerks and providing administrative support to the wider MDT.

We are seeking dynamic, flexible and motivated individuals who will be able to work in both a busy inpatient environment in addition to an office setting.

The appointed individuals should have great people skills, be confident to interact with patients and members of the public, provide support to clinical staff, helping ensure patients receive the best possible care, while working in a diverse team.

Main duties of the job

The role will include completing administrative tasks, stock ordering and management and general housekeeping. Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and processing skills. You should be familiar and confident with Microsoft office packages, and experience of working within the NHS would be advantageous. Knowledge of e-Record would be desirable. Full training will be provided.

  • Contribute to the delivery of a consistently high standard of patient care as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ensures case notes, investigations, X-rays and results are available for new admissions, ward rounds and multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  • To ensure that case notes are correctly maintained following departmental guidelines and compliance with legislation (Caldicott Guidelines etc).Ensuring PAS system is up to date and accurate.

  • oNVQ 2 level qualification / experience and/or minimum of 4 GCSEs, Level 4 - 9 (A - C), including English Language, or equivalent level qualification or relevant experience

Desirable

  • oCompetent with Microsoft Office software including Outlook; ICT Level 1 Qualification or equivalent

Knowledge & Experience

Desirable

  • oPrevious experience working within the NHS
  • oKnowledge of the eRecord, Mermaid, Casis, ERA and or Tracking systems

Skills & Abilities

  • oBasic IT skills
