Job summary
We are recruiting to a new exciting part time post for a Children's Research Nurse based between Great North Children's Hospital, Royal Victoria Infirmary and PICU, Freeman Hospital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective delivery and oversight of clinical trials in the PICU department in the Freeman Hospital.
This is a clinical patient facing post, which requires a dynamic individual who can work both individually, and as part of a team. Although this post will be delivering the research studies in PICU, line management and support, will be provided by the Children's Research Team based in GNCH. Research Nurses are supported to develop professionally and lead on their own caseload of projects under the guidance of the Senior Research Nurse.
A minimum 4 week, research preceptorship at the start of the role, will allow the successful candidate to receive a wide knowledge base around the research topic and build relationships within the research team. The successful candidate will receive full support from the GNCH research team across all areas of research specific training and skills.
As a Research Nurse, you will be responsible for recruiting and following up patients in new and active research studies. You must be able to work autonomously, and as part of a team.
