Consultant Orthopaedic Sarcoma Surgeon

Job summary

We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated Multi-Disciplinary Sarcoma Team. The successful candidate will become an integral member of a surgical team of three Orthopaedic Surgeons and three Plastic Surgeons treating Soft-Tissue and Bony Sarcomas. The successful candidate will join as a co-chair of the Sarcoma MDT, and have primary responsibility for bony sarcomas in both adult and paediatric patients. Additional roles include the treatment of complex and tertiary referral metastatic bone disease and the opportunity to engage in elective arthroplasty. The candidate must have fellowship training in Orthopaedic Oncology.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will become an integral member of a surgical team of three Orthopaedic Surgeons and three Plastic Surgeons treating Soft-Tissue and Bony Sarcomas. The successful candidate will join as a co-chair of the Sarcoma MDT, and have primary responsibility for bony sarcomas in both adult and paediatric patients, with the additional role of treating complex and tertiary referral metastatic bone disease.

  • Primary Medical Qualification.
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register (within 6 months from the date of the AAC).
  • FRCS (Orth) or equivalent

Clinical Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of experience in the specialty.
  • Evidence of a substantial commitment to the specialty.
