Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Endoscopy Services for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Apprentice Administration Support officer based at Freeman Hospital.

Once you join us you will be supported through your apprenticeship journey and offered robust training to allow you to complete the 18 month programme. Within the Board we will map development opportunities tailored to suit your future potential. Main duties of the job

  • The applicant will be required to provide and maintain a high-quality service to co-ordinate the endoscopy booking system and ensure all patient appointments are sent out in a timely manner in accordance with the national diagnostic waiting times. The applicant will also be required to perform other clerical duties within the service.
  • It is desirable that applicants have experience and knowledge of medical NHS settings, patient processes and booking systems. Applicants should be well-motivated, able to work accurately and efficiently, both on their own and as part of a team. The role will be working in a booking office with a number of colleagues, organising and process appointments for patients attending hospital for endoscopic procedures.

  • The primary focus of the role will be to be part of a team providing comprehensive and efficient administration and clerical services to the Trust wide Endoscopy services and to organise and co-ordinate the endoscopy partial booking process in line with the guidelines from the National Booked Admissions programme.

You will need to be able to meet all the eligibility requirements as prescribed by the apprenticeship criteria to undertake the role.

To be eligible for an apprenticeship you must:

  • Have the right to work and remain in the UK.
  • Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years.
  • Provide original evidence of required English and maths qualifications.

  • You will not be considered if you have an equivalent or higher qualification in the same or a very similar subject.
  • You must not be engaged in any other funded training or education programme.
