This post is designed to support both the trauma and elective orthopaedic services at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. The successful candidate will join a team of 12 Consultants providing comprehensive orthopaedic trauma services at the Major Trauma Centre, at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, and will also be part of the upper limb orthopaedic team at RVI.

Essential
- Primary Medical Qualification.
- Full GMC Registration.
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register (within 6 months from the date of the AAC).
- FRCS (Orth) or equivalent.
Desirable
- Higher Degree.
- Special skills training in the specialty.
- MD/PhD
Clinical Experience
Essential
- Evidence of experience in the specialty.
- Evidence of a substantial commitment to the specialty.
- Ability to offer an expert clinical opinion within the speciality.
- Ability to take independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients referred to a tertiary centre.
- Minimum of six months Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship (post CCT) in a UK Major Trauma Centre - or overseas equivalent.
- Minimum of six months fellowship training (post CCT) in upper limb (shoulder & elbow) surgery.

- Sub-speciality specialist training in upper limb surgery to complement existing skills within the Directorate.
