Job summary

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for the position of Senior Research Nurse - Team Lead for Cardiology and Vascular Research.

We are a large, team who support the delivery of a broad portfolio of research studies ranging from early phase experimental trials, clinical trials of investigational medicinal products and observational studies. We work in close collaboration with local, regional, and national colleagues, partnership organisations and networks to increase research opportunities and impact in line with our recently launched Trust 'NMAHP Strategy 2022 - 2027' and 'Our Clinical Research Strategy 2021 - 2026'. We have an excellent track record of supporting staff members within the team to achieve further academic attainment and strive to ensure that this is prioritised for those who are keen to develop themselves in this way.

Main duties of the job

This post is suitable for an individual who has advanced clinical skills, extensive experience of clinical research delivery and advanced knowledge of research activity and governance.

The post holder will be responsible for the leadership and management of the team and will be responsible for the clinical organisation and co-ordination of multiple research studies at varying stages of development and will initiate and manage clinical activities relating to these studies.

The successful candidate will require the ability to provide leadership and management to junior members of the multi-disciplinary team, with responsibility to ensure the successful delivery of multiple research studies of varying complexity and at various timepoints.

  • Registered Nurse (appropriate to branch) / Registered Healthcare Professional
  • Current Professional registration (e.g. NMC/HCPC etc)
  • Degree level knowledge or working towards completion (i.e. on pathway)
  • Meets Professional Body requirements for mentorship if relevant to role

Desirable

  • Master's degree
  • Leadership / management qualification

Knowledge & Experience

  • Evidence of achievement in current post and on-going professional development
