An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Health Records team at the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Health Records Assistant.
The Health Records department is responsible for the running of the central Scanning Bureaus for the Trust. The department is looking for an individual to support the Health Records team within the Scanning Bureau, undertaking project work within the department.

Main duties of the job
- We are looking for an individual who are organised, flexible, enthusiastic and well-motivated to take on the role of a Health Records Assistant.
- You will work closely with colleagues, contributing to all work carried out within the department. This will involve working within the Scanning Bureau, working in the Health Records libraries and working on projects with the Office Managers.
- To join our team, you must be committed to the delivery of a first-class administrative service. As well as having strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience working within a Health Records setting is desirable, though not essential.

- To manage the digitised data that forms part of the electronic patient record
- To provide an effective and efficient Scanning Bureau service that will include the preparation, scanning, validation and uploading of diverse document types
- To participate in the archiving process of the paper health record and any re-call
- To undertake the prompt processing of deceased patient paper health records
- To continue to develop and maintain competencies in all areas of work
Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first months pay.
