We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Dietitian to join the Adult Dietetic department at Newcastle Hospitals. You will work in a supportive team based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and have the opportunity to assess, plan and implement care in a range of clinical areas. This will include general medicine, older people's medicine, surgery and general outpatients. Newcastle Hospitals is a leading provider of multiple Regional Specialisms including cystic fibrosis, allergy, oesophagogastric sugery, Gastroenterology and critical care, meaning there is also opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills through dedicated training in these specialist areas.

Main duties of the job
We offer ongoing training with the opportunity to experience dietetics in a wide range of different specialist areas. The department also provides A, B and C placements for dietetic students. The Trust places significant value on its dietetic services in the provision of first-class patient care, and the dietetic service enjoys a high profile with excellent multidisciplinary involvement.
The post holder will be required to:
- Deliver a high quality dietetic service to patients in the acute and outpatient settings
- Act as a source of expertise in nutrition support (Oral and Enteral feeding)
- Deliver education and training to other hospital staff and to patient groups
- Participate in team and multi-disciplinary audit and research
You should be enthusiastic and self-motivated and will:
- Have a broad knowledge of general dietetics and evidence of continuous professional development
- Be able to present and communicate
- Have basic keyboard skills
- Be flexible, able to prioritise work and meet deadline
