Band 3 Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor for Elective Orthopaedics at Freeman Hospital. Day shifts up to 19:30pm to be negotiated at interview. There will be a 4 week induction period working weekdays only before moving to the permanent shift pattern once competencies have been met.

Main duties of the job
To work alongside the other occupational therapy technical instructors to assess patients having total hip replacements over the phone prior to admission and face to face prior to discharge to ensure that they are able to manage safely at home. Other patients you may also assess are those having total knee replacements and other orthopaedic conditions. There is an element of admin work included in the post including writing up assessments, ordering equipment and contributing towards team service development projects.
We are looking for someone who has some experience working with people with physical disabilities in a therapeutic role and is able to work the shifts as detailed above.

- Patients identified as complex will be managed by a registered occupational therapist.

- Maths/English GCSE or equivalent (Sound general education).

- Experience working in paid or voluntary employment within a rehabilitating role
