Job summary
Ward 31 is a specialist Outpatient Department at the Freeman Hospital providing 47 dialysis stations for patients of all needs, the department is open 6 days a week from 07:00 until 00:00, providing haemodialysis for approximately 260 patients who attend 3 times weekly for treatment.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our ward team, to care for patients within this very busy department.The job of Ward Clerk entails a variety of duties working with patients, assisting nursing staff, and working with external transport providers to ensure patient receive their dialysis. You must be flexible and be able to work within our shift patterns.
A good general education, good communication skills, good manual dexterity skills, time management, and the ability to work as part of a team are required for this post.

Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain efficient and effective administrative support to the Ward Sister/ Charge Nurse and multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to the delivery of a consistently high standard of patient care as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Ensures patient record are scanned and made available for viewing
- Ensuring PAS system is up to date and accurate.
- Ensuring Patient transport is booked in accordance with the patients dialysis schedule.

- NVQ 2 level qualification / experience and/or minimum of 4 GCSEs, Level 4 - 9 (A - C), including English Language, or equivalent level qualification or relevant experience.
