Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a reliable, well-organised and highly efficient person for the post of Clinical Administrator to work within Children's Services in the Forensics Team and Child Death Team.
The forensic team carry out medical assessments on children and young people from the age of 0-16 years who have disclosed sexual abuse or sexual assault. The department also sees children who have alleged physical abuse. The role will involve day-to-day support for the nursing and medical team. Duties will include typing medical reports to meet nationally defined timescales.
The post holder will provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the medical staff and other members of their team. They will provide cover for the Senior Medical Secretary/Team Leader as and when required. The post holder will be required to have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritise workloads effectively with excellent attention to detail and will act as a point of contact in the absence of the Senior Medical Secretary.
Applicants need to be aware that the subject matter can include distressing information and support is available from the psychologist allocated to the team.
You will also work closely with the Child Death Coordinator to process Child Death Notification forms.

These roles involve working closely with medical and nursing staff. Post holders will be required to provide an efficient administrative service to the clinicians and their teams. The ability to work independently and follow the policies and procedures for your department is essential. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, flexibility, reliability and must have an organised approach to work.
These roles have lots of variety and ad-hoc demands and post holders must possess excellent time management and planning skills. These positions provide the opportunity to work within a very supportive and welcoming team and to further develop existing knowledge and skills. Previous administration/secretarial experience in an NHS environment is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
