Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Scientist or Pre-Registrant to perform urodynamics in the Urology Department at the Freeman Hospital. The post is a fixed term temporary contract for 3 years initially with the intention that this will become a permanent post in the future. The post holder will be responsible for delivering urodynamic services to patients with urinary tract symptoms.

Main duties of the job
- Triage referrals for urodynamics investigations
- Perform and clinically report urodynamics investigations (plain and video cystometrograms)
- Supervision and assessment of Scientist Training Programme (STP) trainees
- Contribute lectures to Newcastle University's MSc Clinical Science programme
- Provide highly specialist advice and information directly to medical, nursing and other NHS users and clients
- To provide scientific assistance and advice to medical staff or other health care professionals performing clinical investigations or interventions
- To ensure patient safety with the use of commercially manufactured equipment and systems ensuring that these are adequately maintained, calibrated and tested
- Provide timely and accurate reports
- To comply with Trust standards and guidelines including infection control
