Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated members of staff to join the Main Reception team at the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as Reception Supervisors.

Main Reception areas provide a 24/7 service throughout the main hospital sites. The department is looking for reliable and highly organised individuals who have excellent communication skills. to supervise the Main Reception desks.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an organised, efficient, and progressive individual who has extensive previous supervisory/receptionist experience and is able to demonstrate strong communicational, interpersonal and leadership skills.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Reception Manager, helping to supervise the busy team on the Main Reception desks, ensuring the teams provide an excellent front of house service to patients, visitors and staff.

Main duties include supervising staff, supporting with the completion of rosters to ensure desks are covered 24/7, HR duties, supporting staff in dealing with queries and issues from patients, visitors and staff, managing the call queue for inpatient queries and taxi bookings and providing the teams with the necessary support, training and equipment to continue to deliver a high service.

  • To deputise for Reception Manager
  • To support the Medical Examiners/Bereavement Services as required ,organising and managing the collection of death certificates of deceased patients within the Trust
  • To contribute to a high standard of service to bereaved families, visitors and staff as a member of the multidisciplinary team
