Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Junior Sister to work as part of our leadership team on the Emergency Admission Suite (EAS) at Freeman Hospital. EAS is a unique area caring for mainly Urology, Vascular, HPB and ENT emergency patients. Patients are referred from other care settings or community, receive treatment and are then either admitted to wards or discharged home.
This is a permanent post due to the current Band 6 promotion. The role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to develop their management and leadership skills in a supportive environment.
We are looking for a self-motivated, confident and adaptable Junior Sister/Charge Nurse who is keen to learn and develop their skills.

Main duties of the job
Provide leadership to the team, supporting and contributing to the education of junior members of the team as they develop in their roles on the unit.
Act as deputy to the senior sister in her absence, ensuring a visible presence for patients and staff responding to and acting on any concerns that may be identified
Management of the unit on a day to day basis, acting on and resolving concerns as required
Actively contribute to the delivery of high quality care, monitor standards of practice with specific emphasis on the delivery of harm free care.
To be an active member of the ward multidisciplinary team

- Provide effective support and leadership to both staff, patients and carers within the ward or department.

- Ensure systems are in place to provide the continuity of safe effective care for patients at all times.
