Job summary

Applications are invited from qualified or soon to be qualified Radiographers who are keen to develop their career in our highly regarded, aspirational radiotherapy service. This post is based at the Radiotherapy Department at the Cumberland Infirmary which is equipped with 2 matched Varian TrueBeam linacs as well as a Siemens CT scanner and access to a Siemens MRI for planning purposes. The postholder will be working as part of a small, friendly team delivering high standards of care to patients referred for radiotherapy.

Opportunities for post-graduate study are encouraged and supported. We provide a comprehensive training package for all radiographers joining the team and a preceptor programme for newly qualified team members.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be based at the Carlisle radiotherapy department. They will have good working knowledge of current radiotherapy techniques including VMAT, IGRT and SABR and will be required to work in either pre-treatment imaging or on a linear accelerator dependent on departmental needs. The post holder will undertake radiotherapy practice independently and professionally in accordance with all protocols and procedures. They will work with care and accuracy ensuring the highest quality of technical practice and patient care.

The postholder will be required to have a flexible approach to working hours to accommodate service demands. There will also be a requirement for occasional travel to Newcastle for training purposes.
