Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and dependable individual to join the Procurement & Supply Chain department as Theatre Inventory Manager at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospitals. The Trust is investing in the theatre stores function, including the introduction of a modern Inventory Management System (IMS), incorporating the national Scan4Safety programme.
We are looking for an individual who will be part of the senior team in the Inventory and Logistics function, specifically having overall responsibility for inventory management within the trust's theatre areas. They will also manage the implementation, and ongoing control of our new IMS, including the identification of new areas that would benefit from its safety and financial benefits.
The Inventory and Logistics Managers lead the teams responsible for the provision of an effective, efficient, and professional inventory and logistics management service, to theatres, wards, and departments across the Trust.

Main duties of the job
The Theatre Inventory Manager will line manage and lead a team of inventory management professionals to provide an effective and efficient service to theatre department stakeholders and will be responsible for the enforcement and ongoing review of standard operating procedures for theatre stores alongside other Inventory and Logistics Managers within the Procurement and Supply Chain department.
The Theatre Inventory Manager will be responsible for the management and development of a portfolio of inventory management KPIs, including monthly reporting to key stakeholders in Theatres, Procurement and Finance.
The Theatre Inventory Manager will ensure support and guidance that relate to inventory management including, stock reviews, stock management and cost improvement projects is given to key stakeholders and colleagues across the trust.
The Theatre Inventory Manager will have a working knowledge of electronic purchasing systems, inventory management, analysing spend data, and the ability to interpret that data into service improvement.

- An appropriate Professional Purchasing qualification, NVQ 4 (Purchasing), CIPS, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of professional inventory management principles acquired through degree or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), plus expertise in Logistics and Inventory Management obtained via further training and experience or equivalent
Desirable
- European Computer Driving Licence qualification
- Project Management Qualification (such as, PRINCE2 practitioner) or equivalent experience

- Experience at developing and managing relationships within a complex environment
