The Band 7 Physiotherapist will provide a high standard of physiotherapy to staff within the Occupational Health Service. The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, promoting early intervention and rehabilitation to facilitate a timely return to work or to prevent sickness absence.
In summary, the Band 7 Physiotherapy role at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Occupational Health Service will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of Trust staff, providing expert care and promoting a culture of health awareness and injury prevention within the workplace.

Main duties of the job
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of staff referred to the service, using clinical reasoning skills and a variety of assessment techniques.
- Formulate and deliver individual treatment plans based on evidence-based practice, ensuring high standards of clinical care and patient safety.
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and education to staff on the management of musculoskeletal conditions and the prevention of injury in the workplace.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational health advisors, consultants, and other allied health professionals, to coordinate and manage patient care effectively.
- Implement return-to-work programs and adjustments, liaising with managers and HR as necessary to support staff in their work environment.
- Evaluate patient progress, reassessing and adapting treatment plans as required to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date patient records in accordance with professional standards and Trust policies.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of health promotion initiatives within the Trust.
- Engage in continuous professional development and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current best practice in physiotherapy and occupational health.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to junior physiotherapy staff and students as required.
