Would you like to help care for patients attending for diagnostic tests and therapeutic administrations in the exciting and constantly developing field of nuclear medicine (molecular imaging)?
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate individual to join the Nuclear Medicine team at the University Hospital of Hartlepool unit of Northern Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering as a band 4 nuclear medicine assistant practitioner.
This post will provide the successful applicant an excellent opportunity to work with a small friendly multidisciplinary team of clinical technologists, medical physicists and consultant radiologists. The successful candidate will support the team to deliver a high quality patient focused nuclear medicine service. The department performs approximately 3,000 adult and paediatric nuclear medicine investigations per year.
Prior experience in a healthcare setting working with patients is an advantage, ideally in an imaging department. Additional training specific to nuclear medicine will be provided.

Main duties of the job
The role is primarily patient facing, ensuring that patients attending for nuclear medicine examinations are cared for while in the department. Administrative and clerical work is also part of the post, with the role providing support to all aspects of the nuclear medicine service. Independent working in accordance with defined written procedures is expected.
