Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and forward thinking individual to join our Outpatient Clerk / Receptionist team based within Urology. The Urology Department at Freeman hospital is one of the leading providers of urology services in the UK. We cater to patients in the North of England - around Newcastle upon Tyne and extending to Cumbria and the Scottish borders.

The successful candidate will provide an effective and efficient out-patient reception and administrative service across the department ensuring that a high quality of customer care is delivered. Working well as part of a team and a positive proactive attitude is essential.The position provides the opportunity to work within a very supportive and welcoming team.
Exciting opportunities to further develop existing knowledge and skills through vocational training such as NVQ's and apprenticeship schemes are supported and available.

Main duties of the job
Our Outpatient / Reception Clerk team carry out a range of duties, including:
- Providing a welcoming front of house service to our patients
- Dealing with a busy telephone system and resolving queries efficiently
- Scheduling appointments, referral management & co-ordinating clinics
- Administration and clerical services to a multi-disciplinary team
- Working closely with Team Lead and Administration Manager
- Creating and maintaining good working relationships with external providers, such as interpreting and community services
