Job summary

An exciting, fixed term or secondment opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with clinical governance and patient safety, and an understanding of mortality surveillance data and managing dashboards. They will be educated to post graduate level (or have an equivalent qualification or experience).

The post holder will require excellent communication and negotiation skills in order to write and present reports and potentially challenge colleagues across all levels of seniority and across all departments within the Trust.

The Integrated Governance Manager will lead on Trust mortality surveillance and monitoring as well asprovide appropriate advice and support in relation to organisational governance process. The post holder will work also alongside and support senior Trust leaders in quality and patient safety, as the Trust transitions towards the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework as part of the NHS Patient Safety Strategy. We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving patient safety through learning and improvement and who is dedicated to championing a positive and open safety culture.

The post holder will be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, supervising other staff and delivering against key objective.

This role works within the Patient Safety Team within the Clinical Governance and Risk Department.

The post holder will have a Trust-wide remit with responsibility for leading and facilitating developments in mortality surveillance, working closely with the Trust Medical Examiners. As we transition to a new structure across the organisation, this post holder will also be responsible for supporting Clinical Boards with their quality and safety governance and will work closely with the Board Quality and Safety Leads as well as the Patient Safety Manager and Trust Patient Safety Specialists.
