Main duties of the job

We are pleased to be recruiting overseas trained nurses who have achieved their IELTS or OET and who have successfully completed the NMC competency-based test (CBT) to join us as a Pre-Registration Nurse. If successful at interview, you will be offered a contract as a Pre-Registration Nurse progressing to a Qualified Nurse once registered with the NMC. We aim to support 1 cohort in the early part of the financial year Feb / Mar 2024, and you must be available to commence in post within this timeframeYou will be supported through our international nurses training programme whilst also being supported by clinical education staff on a ward where you will work permanently once registered. We will aim to support you in your area of preference and expertise but you may be placed in any adult nursing post across the Trust.

Essential Criteria

  • You must be a current resident of UK
  • You must hold a nursing qualification, have an active registration overseas and have a least one years experience in the country where the qualification was obtained.
  • You will have passed either:

IELTS you have sat the tests within 12 months of each other, you have tested in all four sections at the same time, achieved at least 7 for reading, listening, and speaking, and at least 6.5 for writingin at least one of the two test sittings and have no scores in either of the two test sittings that are below 6.5 for listening, reading, and speaking, or below 6 for writing

OR

OET you have sat the tests within 12 months of each other, tested in all four sections at the same time, achieved at least grade B for reading, listening and speaking, and at least grade C+ for writingin at least one of the two test sittings and no scores in either of the two test sittings are below grade C+ for listening, reading, and speaking, or below grade C for writing

  • You must have also successfully completed the NMC competency based test (CBT) and have received a decision letter from the NMC. We will request evidence of your examination results or NMC decision letter prior to interview.
  • You must be committed to undertaking the additional study and passing your OCSE, you will be bonded for the costs of OSCE and training. Should you decide to leave the Trust during your training or before 12 months we will seek to reclaim the cost of your training.
