Are you interested in pursing a career in Children's Nursing? We are interested in hearing from candidates wanting to apply for the MSc Children's Nursing Programme at Northumbria University and offer the opportunity to work in conjunction with our Trust's Staff Bank as a Healthcare Assistant.

The MSc Children's Nursing Programme (pre-registration) at Northumbria University is a self-funded course for those who already have a previous undergraduate degree at 2:2 or above and GCSE English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent. As part of this recruitment, candidates will be jointly interviewed by Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals and Northumbria University to assess suitability for both the Bank Healthcare Assistant role and the pre-registration nursing programme.

Successful applicants will be offered a post with our Staff Bank as a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant, as well as a place on the MSc Children's Nursing Programme. Joining our bank provides an excellent opportunity for those who wish to gain insight and experience into diverse areas and specialties during training, while providing you with the flexibility to choose your own working hours.

To be eligible for the MSc Nursing programme candidates must have a minimum of 500 hours of healthcare experience to start the course in January 2024. Successful candidates that do not currently have these hours will be able to work on the Staff Bank as a Healthcare Assistant to gain this experience, with a view to start the course in January 2025.
