Job summary

This is a new post within the Business Development & Enterprise Directorates Performance team as we look to enhance this team and the support it provides to the Trust. It requires a self-motivated individual who can also work well as part of a team and who will look to support and improve the Performance function across the Trust.

The post holder will undertake a full range of Performance, Business and Development activities and will support and deputise for the Senior Business and Development Manager (Performance). They will work closely with a clinicians and managers, both internally and externally to the Trust, and will represent the Trust whilst presenting and leading on a range of Performance related topics.

As a key member of the Performance team you will be responsible for providing senior professional, performance leadership across the Trust to support the achievement of the many Planning and Performance targets and measures associated with these areas of work (with a key focus currently on waiting times). In addition you will be required to ensure there is a good understanding of both local and national reporting requirements and our levels of achievement against these.

Main duties of the job

As Senior Performance Manager, you will work with the Senior Business Development Manager (Performance) to support the continuous improvement of the Trust's Performance enabling our regulatory and contractual priorities to be met. You will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of effective reporting systems for a range of performance measures that support clear understanding, accountability and encourage achievement of all key standards whether externally or internally set.

You will be expected to provide assurance, highlight any variances in performance and bring performance issues to the attention of the Senior Managers and Executives within the Trust.

You will play a key role in working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff to promote a positive approach to performance that supports the delivery of high-quality services.

You will support the Performance team and ensure the improvement and development of the Band 7's and Band 5 within the team to ensure that that we provide a cohesive and responsive Performance Function.

You will be educated to degree level or have significant experience coupled with achievement that indicates degree-level ability in a performance management role. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and highly developed IT and analytical skills. You will be able to work under pressure to meet stringent deadlines.
