Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Fit Testing Technicians, on a permanent contract, Band 3 to join the Fit Testing Team, post 1 - 37.5 hours/week and post 2 - 22.5 hours/week.

Face Fit testing is the process of having a face fitting for FFP3 respirator masks. Previous experience in the process of fit testing would be beneficial, however it's not essential as training will be given. As a Fit Testing Technician, you will be responsible for the fit testing of approximately 2000 staff per year to a minimum of 2 or maximum of 3 masks. The successful candidate must be flexible in their role and always demonstrate attention to detail.

The Health and Safety of our staff has always been paramount and effective and tested Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) is essential to ensure our staff can work safely. The fit testing team provide a rolling fit testing service ensuring the Trust are compliant with National requirements in terms of FFP3 respirators and safeguard a strong position which can respond to any new demands and is prepared for any future uncertainties. It is important that the focus on FFP3 resiliency continues and develops further.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for maintaining high quality fit testing provision in the Trust.
  • Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework, around procedure and practice.
  • Provide support and education to the multidisciplinary team and fit testers across the Trust.
  • Assisting and performing administrative duties, such as entering Fit testing data onto the Electronic Staff Record (ESR), managing the Choose and book database as well as dealing with queries and accurate message taking.
  • Other relevant duties as required by the Line Manager.
